Cybersecurity researchers have discovered a major web skimming campaign that has been active since January 2022, targeting several major payment networks like American Express, Diners Club, Discover, JCB Co., Ltd., Mastercard, and UnionPay. "Enterprise organizations that are clients of these payment providers are the most likely to be impacted," Silent Push said in a report published today.
In the Financial Services & Fintech sector, the rising tide of web skimming attacks necessitates immediate adoption of AI-driven fraud detection systems to protect customer data and maintain trust. Banks and payment processors need to invest in anomaly detection algorithms to identify suspicious transactions and prevent further data breaches, which will directly affect profits and brand reputation.
Businesses must integrate AI-driven security solutions into their e-commerce infrastructure to automate threat detection and response. This includes implementing machine learning models for behavioral analysis of website traffic, anomaly detection in payment processing, and automated patching of vulnerabilities.
